Great Weekend

This has been a great weekend.  We had all the kids and my mother here on Saturday morning for an early Christmas.   After a great breakfast prepared by Janet it was time to start Christmas.  We spend a few minutes praying together; thanking God for Jesus and for all His blessings in our lives.  Then we did something new.  Instead of the normal items in the kids stockings (yes – they still have stockings), we put $50 in one dollar bills in their socks.  We then proceeded to play a game like the Auction they play each season on Survivor.  There were some great prizes and some that were not so great.  It was a new twist to Christmas for us and a total blast.  We finally got around to opening gifts (too many – but too much fun!)   This lasted the rest of the morning – we had a lot of fun and were blessed.  Spent the rest of the day together; watching movies, playing games and watching a very disappointing Cowboy’s game.  A few pictures of the morning are attached.

It was also a great weekend because I know the daughter of some of our great friends prayed and asked Jesus into her heart this morning in The Power Zone at church.  I know that at least one other child made the same commitment, but haven’t heard how many adults made commitments in our main service.

It was just a great weekend; and held many reminders of God’s incredible blessing in our lives.  Here are a few of the Christmas photos.
