Freedom Is Messy

Last night we had our Freedom Fest Celebration at Grace.  It was awesome.

When I got to the church this morning our staff was busy cleaning up the place.   We have great folks who clean the church, but after last night the whole place was a mess!   So our staff was busy cleaning up confetti, busted balloons, coke spills, bathrooms, floors, auditorium, outside, etc etc etc —- and not only were they cleaning – they were doing it with great attitudes.

I think that’s because they get it!   They understand that trying to offer the ultimate freedom (the freedom we find in Jesus Christ) to people is messy.   Our goal is to try and reach those who are not yet believers and we had a boatload of new families here last night.    The auditorium ended up being packed and cars just kept coming in for the fireworks.

We had a grand celebration – but there was an even bigger one going on in heaven – because 20 people (adults and some children) found ultimate freedom by committing their lives to Christ last night during Freedom Fest!

Freedom can be a little messy – but it’s so worth it !
