I was reading in Hebrews 11 this morning in my time alone with God. Even though I’ve read this chapter many times, verses 1 & 6 seemed to jump off the page this morning.
Heb 11:1 & 6 state: “What is faith? It is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen. It is the evidence of things we cannot yet see. 6 So, you see, it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that there is a God and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.”
As I journaled some notes I asked God to give me more faith – to exponentially expand my faith – and to help me continue to learn what it means to SINCERELY SEEK HIM. A question that came to my mind that I think you should consider is: Who or what are you sincerely seeking? Is it God or something/someone else? He rewards those who sincerely seek Him!
I also read from Psalm 111, and verses 7 – 10 about God rocked. “7 All he does is just and good, and all his commandments are trustworthy. 8 They are forever true, to be obeyed faithfully and with integrity. 9 He has paid a full ransom for his people. He has guaranteed his covenant with them forever. What a holy, awe-inspiring name he has! 10 Reverence for the LORD is the foundation of true wisdom. The rewards of wisdom come to all who obey him.Praise his name forever!” We desperately need wisdom to nagivate these difficult/evil times! Fear/awe/reverence of God is the foundation of true wisdom and when we obey Him we grow in wisdom. How cool and simple is that!
