If there’s one thing people seem to desire today – it’s PLEASURE.   Granted, I like things that bring me pleasure too!  However, so many things that I chased in my past brought me only temporary pleasure often followed by moments or prolonged times of dissatisfaction.  I think many of the things people pursue today yield the same results

A number of years ago, in the midst of my hidden, yet extreme dissatisfaction with life – I made a decision to follow Jesus Christ as Savior & Lord.  It was the single greatest decision I’ve ever made and began an adventure that’s still growing and becoming even more exciting.  As I’ve developed this relationship with Christ, things haven’t always been rosy; but something incredible has happened as I’ve discovered lasting joy & pleasure.  Psalm 16:11 explains what I’ve discovered. 

Ps 16:11 NASU says this about God & me.  “You will make known to me the path of life;  In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.”

In spite of the troubles I’ve faced, the crises we’ve been through and the tragedies of life – this passage speaks of a truth Janet and I have discovered and cling to.   God has shown us the PATH to living a life that’s off the charts.  Serving Him and being in His PRESENCE brings us incredible joy.  We’ve discovered that following His direction for our lives and being used to build His Kingdom brings us PLEASURE that’s eternal in nature!
