Staff Survivor

Had a total blast with our staff this past Tuesday playing Staff Survivor and then taking them to Brio for lunch.

We started with a time of prayer and shared a little from the Word about using our words in ways that build up and encourage.   Earlier in the month I had the entire staff write an anonymous note of appreciation about each staff member.  We put these in envelopes on Monday and gave them to each staff member at the party.  It was cool to see some of the responses as they read the things that our other staff members appreciate about them.   I also shared with the staff that I keep an “enouragement file” to read from time to time when I’m totally frustrated or feel like quiting.   This idea was shared with me by a very wise pastor many years ago and has been a source of encouragement to me over the years.

I’m not sure giving is one of my spiritual gifts, but I love generosity and love to give gifts to people.   That’s one reason I love this time of the year.   We also love giving extra money for various mission causes this time of year; there are times I wish I had millions to give away.

Anyhow, Staff Survivor was great; it was a blast seeing our staff surprised by what they got – some funny gifts and some VERY NICE GIFTS!
