During my time alone with God last week I had an interesting idea. I had recently read where Jesus said: “Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.”
I’ve mentioned this in a previous blog, but thought about how I need to chow down on the good stuff daily – the Word of God!
Then I thought about what my trainer has me doing. I eat 5 small meals every day; eating every three hours between 6:30am until 6:30pm. The interesting thought I had was what if I did the same thing with the Word of God. Meditation on a particular passage is nothing new, but I thought wouldn’t it be HEALTHY if I’d take just a few minutes every three hours (when I pause to eat my meal) if I’d also pause to feed on the Word of God.
For me this means meditating on a verse that really spoke to me during my time alone with God in the morning. So what I’m trying to do is think on this verse every 3 hours or so throughout my day and see what God reveals to me through it. You could do this or even stop and read a portion of scripture every three hours. Wouldn’t it be great to feed on “every word that proceeds from the mouth of God” more frequently through your day.
Something to ponder.
Great thought. I think I’ll join you!
