Many of you at Grace Fellowship made a commitment to read the Book of Acts over the 28 days leading up to Easter. I want to thank you for taking a few minutes to read this blog, and I hope you’ll join the conversation by sharing some of your thoughts from the Book of Acts with me!
As I was reading Acts 3, verse 6 jumped off the page for me. Acts 3:6 states: But Peter said, “I do not possess silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you: In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene — walk!”
You and I may not have what Peter & John possessed; ie – the ability to speak and command physical healing, but what do you possess that you can give to others?
Janet & I love to give (financially) but as I thought about this, I remembered the best possession I have to share with others is Jesus Christ. The guy who was healed of his lameness eventually died; so while physical healing is a great blessing – spiritual healing from sin is the greatest blessing. The Bible says after we die physically, we’ll stand before God to be judged. However, if we’ve experienced the spiritual healing that comes from trusting Jesus Christ personally we’ll be proclaimed innocent and welcomed into God’s Kingdom (heaven) forever.
If you’re a true-believer (not a make-believer), Jesus Christ lives in you and the greatest possession you can share with someone else is Christ Himself!
For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is the Power of God to salvation for everyone who believes. Romans 1:16. There may or may not be physical healing but there is always power when we offer the good news. There was power that day at the beautiful gate and we have it still today.
