One of my favorite sentences in the 10th Chapter of Acts is found in verse 33: “Now we are all here in the presence of God to listen to everything the Lord has commanded you to tell us.” Cornelius and his household were eager to hear God’s Word – the message that God had for them through Peter. How I wish everyone who attended church would come with this kind of attitude and expectation. We tend to find what we’re looking for, and I’ve found that if I come to church, my Life Group, a Bible conference, etc with an expectant spirit – seeking to hear something from God for my life – I hear something that I need to apply to my actions or atittudes.
