MISSION (BIG – Day 12 – Acts 12)

In March, 1976, just a few years after choosing to follow Christ, I determined my objective/mission for living.  This “Life Objective” would be the directing force of my life regardless of where I worked or lived.  My personal life objective is: To know, to love and to glorify God, and to be used of Him to raise up qualified laborers in significant numbers – as fast as possible – to help fulfill the Great Commission.  That’s my lifelong mission and goal – one I will spend the rest of my life striving to fulfill.
Since becoming a follower of Christ, I’ve had the privilege of being called to several different churches & ministries.  Hopefully, I was able to fulfill the mission God had for me in each of those places.  That’s my desire; to fulfill God’s purpose & mission for my life.

The last verse of Acts chapter 12 is significant to me;   And Barnabas and Saul returned from Jerusalem when they had fulfilled their mission, taking along with them John, who was also called Mark  ( Acts 12:25 NASB).

If you are a follower of Christ, I know that a part of His mission for you is to be a witness (Acts 1:8) and to be involved in helping people become followers of Christ (Mt. 28:19-20).  I don’t know the other specific things God has for you to do, but I hope like Barnabas & Saul – you are able to say you fulfilled your mission.
