We start a new series at Grace Fellowship this Sunday called WARRIOR. It’s all about spiritual warfare. In my time alone this morning I read Mark 11. I think one of the biggest ploys of the enemy is to keep Christ-followers trapped in unforgiveness.
The danger of refusing to forgive is that you can’t be right with God and your prayers are hindered. In Mark 11, Jesus said: 24 “Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they shall be granted you. 25 “And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone; so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your transgressions. 26[“But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in heaven forgive your transgressions.”]
Satan loves it when we won’t forgive because a lack of forgiveness leaves us open to his attacks and renders us ineffective in helping build God’s kingdom.
You say: “You don’t know what happened to me!” You’re right, but God does. And God wouldn’t command us to forgive if it were not possible. In addition, consider what these passages teach:
I pray that you will begin to understand the incredible greatness of his power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power 20 that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms. Eph. 1:19-20 NLT
For I can do everything with the help of Christ who gives me the strength I need. Phil. 4:13 NLT
