Our Position In Christ

Several years after becoming a follower of Christ, I finally realized He wanted me to live in victory every day and a big part of that was believing what God said about me instead of giving in to the lies and deceptions of the enemy.

If you are a real-believer, not a make-believer, then you are positioned with God in Christ. This set me free as I made a decision to believe what God says about me and my position in Him because of Christ. That position or standing means…..

I AM ACCEPTED:
John 1:12 Called the children of God
John 15:15 Jesus says I am His friend
Rom. 5:1 I am justified
1 Cor. 6:20 I belong to God
Eph. 1:1 I am a Saint
Eph 2:18 I have direct access to God thru the Holy Spirit
Col. 1:14 I have been forgiven of all sin

I AM SECURE:
Rom. 8:1-2 I am free from all condemnation
Rom. 8:39 Nothing can separate me from God’s love
Phil 1:6 God will complete the work He began in me
Phil 3:20 My citizenship is in heaven
2 Tim 1:7 I have no need to fear
Heb. 4:16 I can find grace and mercy when in need
1 John 5:18 I’m born of God & the evil one cannot touch me

I HAVE SIGNIFICANCE:
2 Cor 5:18 I am a minister of reconciliation
2 Cor. 6:1 God has called me to help in His kingdom work
Phil 4:13 I can do all things thru Christ’s strength
John 15:16 I have been chosen to impact my world
Eph 3:12 I can approach God with freedom & confidence
Matt 5:13 I can bring light into the world’s darkness

If you are a follower of Jesus Christ – all these things are true of you – so appropriate them and live in them daily!

If every REALLY TRUE believer in Christ has ALL these POSITIONS why is it
that so few are witnessing, demonstrating the love that Jesus has shown,
and churches on Sunday morning are so so EMPTY /

The position is ours because of what Christ did not by anything we’ve done. However, just like with our salvation – we have to appropriate it through faith. And then as I understand who I am in Christ, I begin to make an impact in my world when I’m obedient to the Word & Spirit of God.

Frank – It’s only my opinion, but many churches are declining today because they’re more committed to traditions or religious systems than they are to living out the Great Commandment and Great Commission.

Exactly ! The people today, for the most past, are more interested in the “Sunday show” held at some churches. But just stop and imagine, think and PRAY that if ever REAL Christ centered church were actively practicing the Great Commandment and the Great Commission, what each believers life would be like?
There would be NO time for sermons and long choir selections because believers would want to SHARE their witnessing experiences. The three (3) P’s are ever so important – PRAYER, PREACHING and PARTICIPATION.

    Still praying,
    Karl
