Justified

Some people won’t like Paul’s words in 1 Cor 6 because they run so counter to the culture, but that doesn’t negate their truth.  Here’s a portion of the truth he shares:   1 Cor 6:9-10   Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

There was a time in my life that I was a part of this group described in verses 9-10.  However, when I trusted Christ with my life – the following words became true for me.

And such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and in the Spirit of our God.   1 Cor. 6:11

I had no ability on my own to change my lifestyle and thus inherit the Kingdom of God.  However, when I put my faith and trust in Jesus – I was justified by and through Him.  Justified bascially means “just as if I never sinned”.  When I die and stand before God; I will stand before Him “just as if I never sinned” because of what Jesus Christ has done for me.
