5K PRAY

I just finished my 5K PRAY – it was awesome.

Let me encourage you to do a 5K PRAY this week in preparation for Easter.  If you can’t do a 5K – that’s fine – but do a Prayer Walk where you Circle something/someone you want to pray for as we prepare for Easter Weekend.

Want to know what I prayed for?  Here are some of the things – in no particular order.

I walked around all the buildings on the GFC Campus and prayed for everything and everyone that will be in those buildings this weekend.

I walked around every parking spot on our campus and around the gravel parking lots – praying for every space to be filled – every car to be filled – and for every person in/on every car/truck/motorcycle/bicycle that attends this weekend would leave filled with Jesus.

I walked around the Crosses on the hill on our campus and asked God to anoint/bless/use them as people drive by that they’ll know that thieves and robbers are welcome here.

I walked by the signs on Hwy 114 and thought of every Mailer that went out and prayed that God would use every invitation that’s issued to impact someone for Christ.

I prayed for our: Parking Lot Greeters, Greeters, Small World Vols, PZ Vols, Student Ministry Vols, Tech Team Vols, Band, Coffee & Cookie Vols,  Welcome Center Vols, 1st Time Guest Greeters, Ushers — for every Volunteer to be used to impact people for Christ.

I prayed for every child & adult that would be here this weekend to know more about the Love of Jesus Christ when they leave this place.

I prayed for every pastor & staff member and their family as they help us prepare for Easter.

I prayed for my preparation to be filled with the thoughts of God and that the Holy Spirit would direct my mind and thoughts as I prepare the message for this weekend.

I prayed for Jerry & his team as they prepare the music portion of worship and for Stan as he prepared the drama we’ll do.

I prayed for Rachel and Grant as they work with Jerry on an awesome video project that will be part of worship this weekend.

I prayed for Communion on Friday and on Saturday night – that it would impact the people who partake and remind them of their responsibility to share what they have with others —- to share Jesus!

I prayed that all of us would experience Christ as we gather this Saturday night and Sunday for our Easter Services and that all of us would do our part to invite people to join us for these services.

I prayed that 100’s of unchurched people would attend because of our invitations and their hearts would be turned toward Jesus.

I prayed that we’d run out of parking spaces and places to sit and have to deal with that issue this weekend.

Then I prayed for the churches of Wise County and their Pastors to be used mightily of God this coming weekend – to preach the truth of the resurrection of Jesus Christ with courage & passion.   I prayed for churches all over America and the world to have an incredible weekend as they point people to Jesus.  Then I prayed for some specific pastors of churches that are having a huge impact in our country to be used like never before.

I prayed for GFC – that God would bless us, expand our territory & influence and keep us from harm and from harming others. (Prayer of Jabez)

And last but not least – I prayed for YOU.

1 Cor 15:3-9

3 I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me — that Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. 4 He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, as the Scriptures said. 5 He was seen by Peter and then by the twelve apostles. 6 After that, he was seen by more than five hundred of his followers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have died by now. 7 Then he was seen by James and later by all the apostles. 8 Last of all, I saw him, too, long after the others, as though I had been born at the wrong time. 9 For I am the least of all the apostles, and I am not worthy to be called an apostle after the way I persecuted the church of God.
