GFC Celebrates 10 Years

Even though the 10 Year Anniversary of Grace Fellowship is June, 8, 2013, in light of all the events of June, we’re celebrating this milestone this Sunday night, June 2nd.  Please go to our website: http://www.gfcfamily.com for more information.

I have reflected often on the funny and significant things that took place as God was drawing me to be the Pastor of Grace Fellowship.  And prior to arriving in Bridgeport, I wrote a vision I believe God had for our church.

Over the next few days, I want to share small highlights from that vision because it hasn’t changed.  As we enter the next decade of ministry – the vision for our church is to remain focused on the main thing of sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the world.  We haven’t (and won’t) arrive, but A WIN for us as a church is: Leading people to a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Here’s a portion of the Vision from Feb. 2004.

I see a church that impacts the character of Wise County & beyond, with thousands of people attending each week.  A church where children come to a place that is exciting and fun as they learn about God and His love – where they beg their parents to come back week after week.

This is being fulfilled.  God is using GFC to impact people beyond Wise County; and with our weekly web-cast we are touching people around the world.   Multiple thousands don’t attend each week yet, but we getting closer to this goal each year as we’ve averaged just under 1400/Sunday during the month of May.  One thing that thrills me is the stories I hear of children who love coming to Grace and who do not want to leave when it’s over.  I’m thrilled because I know many children have placed their faith in Christ through the ministries of GFC, and I know what’s going on behind the scenes in Kids Life Groups as they are memorizing scripture, developing Godly character & habits, and learning what it means to lead as a Christian.
