In John 8:44 Jesus said of Satan – He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.
There are many ways Satan lies to us because his primary desire is to kill, steal & destroy (John 10:10). He lies to us in our feelings – he lies to us about our church – he lies to us about other believers – he lies to us about our future – he lies to us about our worth & value to God & God’s work – he lies to us about our abilities – he lies to us about our sin – etc.
It’s interesting how often we’re compared to sheep in the scripture. Satan also lies to us in order to isolate us because when sheep get separated from the herd – when they wander off on their own – that’s when they become a victim to predators (1 Peter 5:8). We’re meant to do life together as believers; don’t allow the father of lies to deceive you with your emotions or intellect into believing you’re not important, you’re not cared about, or you can do this alone. You need a church family & your church family needs you.
