I love the Christmas season. The birth of Christ was a miracle; but during this season I usually reflect on the purpose of His birth. An angel told Joseph prior to Jesus’ birth to name this boy Jesus because He would save His people from their sins.
Later, Paul wrote in 2 Cor 5:15 these words: He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them.
Jesus died for everyone, but not everyone chooses to receive the life He offers.
But for those of us who receive the new life Jesus offers – there’s to be something significantly different about our life. We’re to no longer live for ourselves – but for Christ. So are we?
