ACTS in Prayer – Part 1 – Overview

One of the youngest members of our creative team recently encouraged me to use an acronym I shared in the meeting as a part of our current series on prayer. I’m using it on Sunday, March 8th, but won’t have time to develop it so I’m sharing it here. It’s been used for years and taught by many people; it’s called ACTS in prayer.

In light of the fact that much of our prayer is focused on asking for things from God, ACTS gives us a guide that helps us remember other important aspects of prayer.   ACTS in prayer suggests your prayer flows in this order…

A = Adoration – praising God for His attributes and character

C = Confession – of sin

T = Thanksgiving – for what God’s done

S = Supplication – praying for myself and others

Over the next few days, I’ll add a little information about each of these areas of prayer.
