An Interesting Thought On Mother’s Day

When Jesus was dying on the cross for you and me, He spoke seven times. Everything Jesus said should be significant to us, and the seven things He said on the cross should be considered carefully. One of those was to His mother and to John, one of His disciples.

Standing near the cross were Jesus’ mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary (the wife of Clopas), and Mary Magdalene.  When Jesus saw his mother standing there beside the disciple he loved, he said to her, “Dear woman, here is your son.”  And he said to this disciple, “Here is your mother.” And from then on this disciple took her into his home. John 19:25-27 NLT

Jesus’ love and concern for His mother during His darkest hour (and hers) is a great reminder to me that I should love and honor my mother.
