ENGAGE IN PRAYER – Day 7 – July 27

Engage = to do, or to take part in something.

You may or may not be familiar with what’s commonly called “The Lord’s Prayer” found in Matthew 6.  It’s actually a pattern Jesus gave us to think about prayer in a new way.  He started by saying:  “Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.”  Matthew 6:9 NASB

Have you ever paused to think what “Hallowed be Your name” means?

To get a better picture of this, go to http://www.Biblegateway.com – do a passage lookup of Matthew 6:9 and read it in five or six different translations.

After reading a few different translations, what do you think it means?  Does your attitude and lifestyle impact your prayer?  Do you think honoring or dishonoring God with the things you say, think and do – help or hinder you when you pray?

What’s the wise thing to do?
