Here are some of the notes and passages from today’s message on My Position & Identity in Christ.
If you are not a follower of Christ, God wants you to know He loves you in spite of anything you’ve done, His Son Jesus died so you could be forgiven of any wrong and have a relationship with Him, and God wants you to know Him and the life He offers you.
If you are a Christian – or become a Christian – the following is true of you.
AW Tozer – Nothing twists and deforms the soul more than a deformed and twisted concept of God.
GOD TOLD MOSES: ‘…”I am the Lord, the Lord. I am the God who is tender and kind. I am gracious. I am slow to get angry. I am faithful and full of love.’” Exodus 34:6 NIrV
David the Great King of Israel wrote: But you, O Lord, are a God of compassion and mercy, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness. Psalm 86:15 NLT
John – an eyewitness of the resurrection of Christ wrote: “…anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.” 1 John 4:8 NLT
But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. Romans 5:8 NLT
Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts. Proverbs 4:23 GNT
As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:1-10 NIV
“For if a man is in Christ he becomes a new person altogether—the past is finished and gone, everything has become fresh and new. All this is God’s doing, for he has reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ…” 2 Corinthians 5:17-18a Ph

I’ll add more information to this in a few days…Bless you,
