6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
What do you think of when you hear the word “anticipation”?
I heard some stories this past week about some of the kids in our church who are getting ready to go to Kindergarten, and they are pumped. The anticipation of their first day of school has them so excited. Can you recall some things you’ve anticipated with great joy and excitement? Even when things aren’t going great or we’re facing tough times – the anticipation of something we look forward to can give us hope and joy.
Isn’t is cool to know that God isn’t finished with us yet; that in spite of our imperfections, God will never give up on us. GOD WILL COMPLETE THE WORK HE BEGAN IN US. The work He began in us the moment we trusted Jesus Christ will ultimately be completed/perfected. God saves us completely and eternally, but we have to live with our imperfections and in a world that is corrupted by sin. Therefore we face various trials and issues while we are here, but we have an incredible ANTICIPATION. We have the anticipation that there will be a day when these imperfections will no longer plague us, and we will be perfected; God will complete the work He began in us. Is that awesome or what!?! So, regardless of what you’re facing – remind yourself of this often: “I anticipate a great future because no matter what happens, God’s going to complete what He began in me!”
