I’m doing some study for an up-coming series, and I’m reading a few books from my shelf that I haven’t read yet. One of them is Parenting With Love & Logic by Foster & Cline. Parents, you may or may not like the concepts in the book, but I think you should read it. Much of what the book teaches is based on Proverbs 22:6, and it will challenge you to think.
One of the most interesting sections in the first part of the book is entitled: TO PROTECT THEM IS NOT TO LOVE THEM. To leave the guess work out of what they mean I suggest you read the book (no – I don’t get royalties – HA!). One quote from the section is: “Protection is not synonymous with caring, but both are a part of love.” It’s been a great read so far; I hope you’ll pick up a copy and let me know what you think.
